“They had very competitive pricing given their location and provided the right mixture of customer engagement.” BACKGROUND Introduce your business and what you do there. I’m the founder and CEO of swapto GmbH. We provide virtual goods like game items, special skins, and anything that’s related to digital currency to our users via loyalty programs to certain brands or services. OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE What challenge were you trying to address with Graffino? We wanted a web application to make our presence known. The app needed to be informative and engaging. It also needed to convey a new message since we are creating a new business that hasn’t been heard of before, so it needed to explain relatively complex topics in easy terms and make the app appealing to people. SOLUTION What was the scope of their involvement? Graffino developed our B2B web app from scratch. We gave Graffino the content and they developed the website. They came up with the image of the company on what the design should look like and what we want to express in our icons. We decided on fonts, layouts, colors, and then they started to make a proposal. We worked on Figma so I could constantly monitor what they were doing. The app was created so people can contact us and we could have a place so people can learn more about us. We reach out to different service providers that have loyalty systems and game publishers. The collaboration was a constant exchange. I would make notes and they’d very quickly turn them into a reality. At times, they’d explain why things should be done differently because we’re not UX experts. They also implemented Google Analytics into the site. What is the team composition? I had two main points of contact. There was also a graphic designer, a website developer, and at least three more people. How did you come to work with Graffino? Graffino was recommended by a friend. What is the status of this engagement? We worked with them between December 2020–February 2021. RESULTS & FEEDBACK What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? They were customer-focused, friendly, and delivered quality work. We haven’t received leads from the website yet but we did get positive feedback. People really think it’s well-designed and gives them the information that they need. Graffino was super competitive price-wise but overestimated a little bit. They said no to our ideas at times but they explained why. They also provided consultancy which wasn’t part of the contract but it was nice. They gave us a bit more than we expected. How did Graffino perform from a project management standpoint? We used Figma and another tool to be able to see the progress of their work. They’d log tickets and we could put comments for them to answer. We also had some scheduled calls for our particular items. What did you find most impressive about them? I liked their minimalistic and clear design. They had very competitive pricing given their location and provided the right mixture of customer engagement. The website was built nicely and is easily customizable. Are there any areas they could improve? No, I had a review with them and already gave them feedback. They should just keep doing what they’re doing. Do you have any advice for potential customers? The way they write their emails could come across as being short but it’s because English isn’t their natural language. Just be aware that you’re communicating with someone whose first language isn’t English, but they’re definitely people you can trust.

In order to ensure the success of the company, we have identified an opportunity for improvement in regards to the distribution of responsibilities among the co-founders. Specifically, we have noticed that Nick, one of the co-founders, is currently spending a significant portion of his time on minor tasks, which is detracting from his ability to focus on more strategic, high-level responsibilities as a co-founder. To address this issue, we believe that it would be beneficial to identify an individual who can take over some of Nick's current responsibilities. This person would ideally have a strong background in the areas where Nick is currently spending a lot of his time, as well as the ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed. By finding someone to take on these responsibilities, we believe that Nick will be able to focus more on co-founder responsibilities, such as strategic planning, business development, and fundraising. This will not only benefit the company in the short term by allowing us to capitalize on Nick's expertise and experience but also in the long term by ensuring that the company has the necessary leadership and strategic vision to succeed.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE What challenges were you trying to address with Graffino? We needed help with web design. SOLUTION What was the scope of their involvement? The first phase of the project involved Graffino creating a mock-up using Figma. After that, we had to take a break due to financial issues on our side. Once we gathered enough investment, they resumed the work and made a new UI/UX design for us. Currently, their team is working on several different projects. They’re updating the design of our platform as we continue to add new elements and features. They’re also building the UI for the backend, working on ads, and creating recommendation algorithms, among other things. What was the team composition? We’re working with 3–4 people from their side. I communicate directly with the managers. How much have you invested in them? We’ve spent up to €8,000 (approximately $8,600 USD). What is the status of this engagement? We started working with Graffino in August 2016, and our collaboration is ongoing. RESULTS & FEEDBACK What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? A lot of people have been using our platform; we currently have about 65,000 users. We’re still working on improving user engagement by making our movie recommendation algorithm better, so we expect this number to continue improving. How did Graffino perform from a project management standpoint? They’ve been flawless from a project management standpoint. They’re professional, quick to react, and well-organized. We use ClickUp to manage tasks and communicate via Slack, WhatsApp, and email. Are there any areas they could improve? I can’t think of anything that Graffino can improve on at the moment.
